Ewe Go Girl!!!

After her whilrwind wins in Malaysia before departing for Australia, Petra - Asian & Mal. Ch Hacienda Ewe Lil Beauty, continued her winning ways by creating history for Malaysia and Hacienda. At her first show in Australia - The Sydney Royal 2003 -  just 7 days out of quarantine, Petra won Best of Breed !!!! She is the first ever Malaysian bred dog all breeds to win a Royal Best of Breed!! Ewe Go Girl!!

Judge - Mrs. H. Assenmacher-Fayel, Germany

At the 7th Dachshund National Speciality in Sydney 2003, Petra came 2nd in the Intermediate Sweepstakes under UK specialist Mrs. Hazel Fielding.
Then in September, just to prove it was no fluke, Petra went on to win her second Royal Best of Breed at the 2003 Royal Melbourne show!!!

Judge - (Breed specialist) Mr. Claudio Guilliani, Italy

Petra has been sparingly shown through 2003 due to her Aussie parent's - Mark & Justine - heavy work commitments, but has done well every time she's been shown and has about 60 odd points towards her Aussie title. Not far now! Her latest win was Best of Breed at the 2003 Spring Fair Show. I'd like to thank Mark & Justine for everything and wish them every success with completing Petra's title (hint hint) and many more memorable wins.

Ewe Reka!!! (There's more!!)

Not to be outdone by her litter sister, Aust. Ch. Hacienda Ewe Reka has also created history by becoming the first ever Malaysian bred dog all breeds to gain the title of Australian Champion!!!! Pasha got her title in early November along with an Intermediate in Group win that day to cap it off. Pasha has done very well and clocked up some lovely In Group wins along the way, as well as a Reserve CC at the Dach Club of NSW specialty show under UK breed specialist Mr. Morris Armstrong.

Many many thanks to Jason & Fiona Walker for campaigining Pasha to her Aussie title and we wish them the very best with Pasha for the next stage of her career.......life as a mum!!

Both Petra & Pasha are proudly sired by Nz & Mal. Ch. Tiermark Jazz ex Mal. Ch. Hacienda Bet On Black

On the Homefront!

Other Jazz kids have continued to hold the fort back home and our stars of 2003 have to be the litter sisters Stella, Mal. Ch. Hacienda Heaven Maid & Bubbles, Mal. Ch. Hacienda Heaven Can Wait

Bubbles was first to be shown and from her fantastic start of Best Minor Puppy in Show first time out, cruised to her title with several Puppy in Group Wins never failing to win a Class in Group at every outing. Bubbles attained her Champion title in 29 days. Bubbles will be heading Down Under next March to her new owner Dale Berrier and we wish Dale & Bubbles continued success!!!

Stella was not shown until September and broke all records by gaining her title in 9 days flat!! We believe she holds the record for the fastest dog to gain a Champion title in Malaysia!! At her first two shows she won Puppy in Group both times and Reserve Best Puppy in Show both times as well under respected International judges. She also won Reserve Group at the second show and completed her title the next weekend with a Junior in Group win. Following that she won 2 Best in Groups and Junior in Group as well as a Junior in Show under Hound Specialists. Those wins meant Stella ended the year as RESERVE HOUND OF THE YEAR 2003!!! A great achievement from only 5 outings!

We would once again like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Brian & Alison Townsend (Tiermark) for having loaned us super stud Jazz! Jazz left behind quite a mark and we pay tribute to him for having produced the following Champions for us:

It started with one.....

Back in 2000 I agreed to co-own Mal. Ch. Lynwater Islander (Imp UK) "for fun" together with my good friends Irene Ng and Kenneth Chuah, local English Cocker enthusiasts. Kenneth bred Islander's first litter in 2001 and I agreed to allow ONE puppy to come and live at Hacienda. He is Mal. Ch. Heritage Islesman - Teddy. In March 2002 after a visit to Crufts I imported a blue roan bitch - Mal. Ch. Charbonnel Cowboys 'N' Kisses (Imp UK) from well know breeder Sandy Platt. Annie completed to her title in September 2003. After Annie her we had a tri colour roan Islander daughter, Heritage La Reina Tri Colora come to live. And the last of the gang to join us was a beautiful gold dog called Mal. Ch. Heritage El Gran Senor, Scott. The bug had bitten. And I was enamoured with these furry dogs!

This year alone we titled 3 Cockers, as Teddy completed his title in May, Annie in September and Scott in November 2003. Scott has had a tremendous few months and shown for the first time in September 2003 aged 10 months won Best of Breed over adult dogs and went on to win Best Puppy in Group. At his next show he won BOB again and went on to win Best Puppy in Show!!! At his last show in Puppy Class in November, he got BOB and his title and also won Reserve Best Puppy in Show!! Scott is a showdog extraodrinaire and we look forward to showing this young dog in 2004 with more coat!!! So don't be suprised to see me showing these long legged, docked 'long haired' dachshunds!

Celebrating our 36th  Dachshund Champion

Mal. Ch. Hampdach Top of the Town at Hacienda (Imp UK), Digby, gained his Malaysian Champion title in December this year becoming Hacienda's 36th Dachshund Champion owned or bred by us.

Digby is sired by the well reknown Eng. & Aust. Ch. Laen Rumourz Run Riot at Hampdach (Imp Aust) who was Top Smooth Haired 2002 in the UK and BOB at Crufts 2002. I'm very grateful to Kath & Andy for allowing me to have Digby, who I am confident with maturity and a few girls to his bed post, will be hard to beat!!

Mini 'Wrong' Hair

Hacienda is proud to welcome Chase - Graedon Dragon Chaser (Imp Aust). Chase is our first mini long hair and we are very grateful to his breeder, "moomay" Julie Ireland for allowing us to have this smashing little fella. Since arriving Chase has been shown twice and both times has picked up the CC & BOB. We're looking forward to 2004 with this guy!

Seeing Spots

When Carol Immelman asked if i would help Giselle Scheepers, mum of the infamous "Scooter does Sydney" (PJRT who escaped at Syndey airport en route to NZ) by puppy-sitting (5 month house quarantine) a 3 month old Dalmation puppy bred by her in Sth. Africa and going to Giselle, so that the poor little pup would avoid a 4 month solitary quarantine, I agreed. Little did I know that this Polka Dot Queen was something else!
Kiwi - Dallmalli Don't Mind Me (Imp RSA), arrived in KL and seemed like the perfect little puppy. That was until she warmed up!!! Now she's an exceptional fence climber and escape artist amongst other things, but she is just so lovely and smart that you can't be mad at her for long!!
So until February 2004 when she leaves us for NZ we have to watch the fences carefully!! In two shows here so far she has won 1 BOB and 1 RBOB aged just 6 months!

Special thanks to all our friends, near and far, who have been helpful and supportive throughout 2003. Last but not least and most importantly, the BIGGEST THANKS to my family who have continually supported me, stood by me & put up with me and the Hounds!!! Thanks heaps!!! I owe you all BIG TIME!!!

Just for laughs!
